We had a fabulous time on Piccolo

The interior was beautiful and comfortable, just as represented in your emails and on your website, and the captain and crew were delightful. Bekir prepared wonderful feasts that included all the items I requested for the kids. We had a great trip and will recommend the experience to our friends.

Back in the office from the trip of a lifetime.

Seriously, this trip was unanimously chosen by all of us as “the best trip we have ever taken”.  Captain Yilmaz and his crew are truly one of a kind. We truly felt like we were away with friends. A GREAT time was had by all.

The Captain and crew were the perfect hosts.

The Piccolo was fantastic! The Captain and crew were the perfect hosts. Always there, but never interfering in our silly activities.  Visiting the many harbors and little ports, were everything we hoped they would be, and the history of the area was truly fascinating for us amateur history buffs! The big surprise was the food!  We had thought we’d maybe have lunch in those little cafes on the various quays, but could it top the Piccolo’s food?  No, so we ate every meal onboard! Delicious! We already miss the sailing “pace” as frenetic life returns. We hope to return someday and visit the southern area by gulet.  Our very best to the Captain and crew.

Have Spatula Will Travel

This time concentrating on the “doing it yourself - Turkish cuisine” the NY Times has this enticing article in the Travel Section April 15, 2007:

We felt a bit like sultans ourselves as we lunched on our own multi-course meal in the hotel’s rooftop dining room, where we could gaze directly upon the magnificent Blue Mosque and even imagine the Hagia Sofia just beyond, its A.D. 537 Christian domes flanked by post-1453 Muslim minarets.  On our table, a distinctly Turkish marriage of ingredients from east and west was paired with a glass of crisp white wine.  We happily soaked in the sun as well as the fact that we had come to know this city and its incredibly rich history a little better through its food.
